Lyrical Eloquence(Forever-Kari Jobe)

After a one week break, am back with my list of the songs that have touched my heart the most. This time Kari Jobe surely nailed it with this track, as we celebrate Easter, It’s my prayer that we get to understand the un matched love Christ has for us.

Today being a Sunday.. not just any Sunday but Palm Sunday according to the Christian Calender, everyone(almost) had palm leaves at church, even Boda Boda guys went about their usual business waving around Palm leaves and that was for a change something worth noting, however i believe not many of them( or even many of us) understand the sort of heart that our Father has, so this song clearly drives the point home.

“Forever”

The moon and stars they wept
The morning sun was dead
The Saviour of the world was fallen
His body on the cross
His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse upon him

One final breath he gave
As heaven looked away
The son of God was laid in darkness
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken

The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
his perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting?
Our resurrected King
Has rendered you defeated

Forever he is glorified
Forever he is lifted high
Forever he is risen
He is alive, He is alive!

The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
his perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting?
Our resurrected King
Has rendered you defeated

Forever he is glorified
Forever he is lifted high
Forever he is risen
He is alive, He is alive!

We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
We sing hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

Forever he is glorified
Forever he is lifted high
Forever he is risen
He is alive, He is alive!

You have overcome
You have overcome
You have overcome
You have overcome
